Virgie Mae Buffington, 82, of Trenton, GA, died Wednesday morning, March 25, 2015 at a Chattanooga hospital.
She was retired from Barwick Carpet Mills in LaFayette, GA. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Buffington loved antiques and working in her flower gardens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Hawkins; and two sons, Andy and Robert Long.
She is survived by her daughter, Rita D. (Eddie) Seal of Rogersville, TN; son, Mike (Tammy) Long of Trenton, GA; two sisters, Johnnie Lewis, of Summerville, GA and Gwen Thompson of LaFayette, GA; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. EST Friday March 27, in the chapel with Rev. Alan Flowers officiating. Interment will follow in Long Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time Friday, March 27 at Ryan Funeral Home, Trenton, who has charge of the arrangements.
