Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson credits heads up work by the Criminal Investigations Division of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office for solving a residential burglary resulting in the arrest of a suspect and recovery of several kitchen appliances.

During the investigation of a burglary on March 22 at a vacant house on Carter Road, detectives identified a potential suspect, Billy Joe Ross Williams, 29, of Ladd Springs Road.

Detectives went to the address and found a stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer in the back of a utility trailer. Additional investigation showed they were the appliances taken from Carter Road. Williams was interviewed and gave a statement on his knowledge of the theft.

The stolen property was valued at $2,300. A sliding glass door was also stolen but was disposed of as scrap.

Williams is charged with burglary and theft over $1,000. He was arrested Thursday and is being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond.

Sheriff Watson praised members of CID in this case, saying, “These officers just kept working until they were able to link the stolen articles to Mr. Williams. They just put two and two together and made the case.”
