Roberts, Thomas Anthony, Jr. (Rock Spring)

Thomas Anthony Roberts, Jr., 84, of Rock Spring, died on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in a local hospital. 

He was a retired veteran of The United States Marine Corps with 20 years of service. He was a purple heart recipient in the Korean War. He was also retired from Blue Cross of Tennessee. He was a member of Burning Bush Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon. He was a 50-year member of Crawfish Springs Lodge #300, and a member of Alhambra Shrine Temple.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan Roberts; a son, Russell A. (Sally) Roberts, Rossville, and a daughter, Susan Duprey, Chickamauga; two grandchildren, Jennifer Jernigan, Columbia, SC, and Lindsay Duprey, Chattanooga; and two great-grandchildren, Kate and Meredith Jernigan, Columbia, SC.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, March 30, at Heritage Funeral Home with Colin Crosen and Rev. Pat Davis Officiating. Pallbearers will be Dee Arnold, Charles Burkhart, Stanley Cooper, Ranny Coulter, Zane Goggin, Mike Hill and Jack Townsend.

Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
