Shelby Jean Barnes, 75, of Ten Mile, Tennessee, died on Thursday, March 26, 2015.

She was born and raised in East Brainerd. She was a Christian of the Baptist faith and a member of Morris Hill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a wonderful wife to her husband for over 40 years and a loving caregiver to him the last eight years. She was a great mentor to all who knew her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Lucille Capps, and grandson, Robert Earl Simpson. 

She is survived by her husband, Bob Barnes; daughters, Debra (Mike) Smith, Kathy Miller Bode (Frank) , Susie Miller Hughes; son, Jeff (Lisa) Barnes; grandchildren, Jeremy Mizell, Kristie Simpson Heald, Brook Bode Rhinehart, Jason Hughes, Michael Hughes, Amber Barnes Tate; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. 

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Forgey officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. on Monday, March 30, and for two hours prior to the service on Tuesday, March 31, at the funeral home.
