Albany, GA. – The Dalton State men’s golf team is tied for third after the first two rounds of the Doublegate Collegiate Invitational on the 7,024 yards, par 72 course at Doublegate Country Club in Albany.
Eastern Florida State (297-275 – 572) leads the pack at four-under-par. First round leaders Darton State (291-294 – 585) from Albany is in second, 13 strokes back of Eastern Florida. They have no individuals in the top ten, three players are tied for 11th, one is tied for 15th and the fifth is tied for 17th.
The Roadrunners (300-290 – 590) and Central Alabama Community College (299-291 – 590) are five strokes out of second place.

Dalton State’s Sean Elliott is tied for second individually with Chase Humber of Central Alabama. Each player shot a first round 73 and a second round 70. They are one stroke back of Kerry Sweeney (70-72 – 142) of Eastern Florida.
The Roadrunner’s Levi Nix finished in a two-way tie for second at even par (74-70 – 144). Anthony D’Angelo is finished the day at one over par and is part of a four-way tie for seventh (76-69 – 145).
Dalton’s Maximillian Bruck is tied for 19th (76-75 – 151) and Dalton Johnson is one stroke back (78-74 – 152). Chase Jones is tied for 27th (75-79 – 154). Austin Hughes rounds out the Roadrunner contingency (88-76 – 154).
The tournament will conclude Tuesday.
