Retro TV Announces 'Police Surgeon' Premiere Date

  • Tuesday, March 3, 2015
Luken Communications announced the launch date of Retro TV’s latest programming addition.  Beginning on Monday, March 30, Retro TV will broadcast two episodes of Police Surgeon weeknights at 10 and 10:30 p.m. Eastern/Pacific.

Police Surgeon, originally known as Dr. Simon Locke, initially broadcast from 1971-1974. Dr. Simon Locke’s storyline focused on the young Dr. Locke (Sam Groom, All My Children) as he assists veteran Dr. Andrew Sellers (Jack Albertson, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory) in the fictional small town of Dixon Mills.
After the series was renamed Police Surgeon, Dr. Locke moved to the big city where he continued to solve crimes involving medical research. Series regulars included Len Birman (Silver Streak), Nuala Fitzgerald (Anne of Avonlea) and Larry D. Mann (In the Heat of the Night).

Matthew Golden, Luken’s vice president of Programming, said, “Retro TV is thrilled to welcome Dr. Simon Locke back to the airwaves and introduce him into our lineup of classic TV characters.” Mr. Golden added, “The adventures of this doctor-cum-investigator are as thrilling now as they were in the 1970s, and with guest stars like William Shatner, Leslie Nielsen and Donald Pleasance, Police Surgeon is a unique offering that further cements Retro TV as the home for the Best in Classic Television.”

"With an assortment of vintage comedies like The Lucy Show and The Joey Bishop Show as well as classic dramas including Route 66, Bonanza and One Step Beyond, Retro TV offers The Best in Classic Television. Retro TV’s newest acquisitions, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Doctor Who and The Doctors launched in 2014 to overwhelming response," officials said.
