North Georgia Surgery Launches Speedy Scope

  • Tuesday, March 3, 2015
March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and North Georgia Surgery selected this month to launch an easier, faster, and more convenient way for relatively healthy patients to be screened for colon cancer - Speedy Scope.

Speedy Scope enables patients (who qualify) to schedule their colonoscopies without being seen in North Georgia Surgery’s office prior to their procedure.

“I realize that many patients live very busy lifestyles, more now than ever,” said Dr.
Rodovaldo Rodriguez, Board Certified surgeon at North Georgia Surgery. “With that in mind, we are offering a more efficient way to schedule a colonoscopy.   Colonoscopies are critical because colon cancer can be prevented and when detected early, it is highly treatable.”

You’re a perfect candidate for Speedy Scope, if you’re:

·     50 years and older (45 years if African American)
·            Exhibit no symptoms such as blood in stool, abdominal pain, or weight loss.
·     Experience no major medical problems and you’re not taking any blood thinners.
