Montgomery, AL – The Dalton State (26-3) basketball team was ranked number five in the NAIA D-I Top-25 Coaches Poll released Tuesday.
Going into this week’s Southern States Athletic Conference basketball tournament at the Cramton Bowl Multiplex, the Roadrunners are on a nine game winning streak that ended Saturday with the SSAC regular season championship.
Martin Methodist (25-4) competed the regular season second in the SSAC and they are now ranked ninth in the land.
Dalton State and Martin Methodist received first round byes.
The tournament begins Wednesday.
Auburn Montgomery and Belhaven tip-off at 11:45 a.m. CST (12:34 p.m. EST). The winner plays Martin Methodist on Thursday at 2:15 p.m. CST.
Blue Mountain and Brewton-Parker square off at 3:15 p.m. CST (4:15 p.m. EST) Wednesday. The Roadrunners will play the winner of that game Thursday at 6:15 p.m. CST.

Games will be available on the Southern States Athletic Conference website. WYYU-FM in Dalton - Mixx 104.5 FM, will not be able to carry Thursday’s game. They do plan to carry the Friday and Saturday games should Dalton State continue winning.
