Betty Lorine Abney Ross, 83, of Rossville, died on Friday, March 27, 2015 in a local health care facility.

She was born in Gadsden, AL in 1931 to the late John and Myrtle Abney and was a graduate of Sylvania High School.  Mrs. Ross attended South Rossville Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman S. Ross, son, Christopher Ross, brother, Luster Abney, and sister, Ola Mae Hill.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Ross Plemons, and Sharon Ross Mazza; grandchildren, Shannon and Bryan Plemons, Blake Ross, Elizabeth Ross Richards, and Eric Liebe; great-grandchild, Alexis Chambers; brothers, Edward and Billy Abney; sisters, Dorothy Bishop, Josephine McDonald, Faye Frizzell, and Margaret Ballew; several beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 2, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Jeff Daniels officiating. Entombment will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 1, from 4–8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
