James David Swilling, 63, of Dalton, GA, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Hamilton Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Ora Mae Swilling and Luther and Stella Dillingham; mother, Evelyn Dillingham Swilling; and brother, Winfrey Glenn Swilling.

David was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Sellers Swilling of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Caroline Swilling Pence and husband Todd of Dalton; son, Andrew David Swilling; father, Charles Trenton Swilling of Dalton; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa Swilling Pratt and husband Jimmy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Joann Swilling of Cohutta, Dee and Wanda Swilling of Dalton, Tim and Sandie Swilling of Rossville, Craig and Kathy Swilling of Cohutta; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, April 3, at 2 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Mark Amspaugh officiating.Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Brian Mathis, Keith Calhoun, Chris Swilling, William Howard, Billy Green and Ricky Head.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 2 from 5-8 p.m.

Funeral arrangements are by Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Pleasant Grove Chapel, Dalton.
