Edward Lamar Catlett age 86, of Chickamauga, Georgia died on Tuesday, March 3, 2015.

He was born in Chickamauga, to the late James Edward and Ila Frances Dimond Catlett. He was a lifelong resident of the Northwest Georgia area and Lamar is now forever at peace in nature. He was a member of Elizabeth Lee United Methodist Church, where he enjoyed being a part of the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class. He retired from Anderson Machine Works in Chattanooga after thirty three years of employment. He was an avid hunter and fishman and was very active as a taxidermist.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of forty four years: Betty Mae Catlett, son-in-law: Ronald Burgess, sister: Doris Fulton, brothers: James FrankCatlett, Phillip LeBron Catlett and R.C. Catlett.

He is survived by his wife: Nancy Jewel Kirby Catlett of Chickamauga, their children: Sandra (Alan) Plemons of Rossville, GA, Michelle (Shelly) Burgess of Ringgold, Beth (Bret) Harvey of Ooltewah, Sally (Anthony) Reid of Florence, AL, Steven, Dale and Tony Harriss all of Chickamauga, grandchildren: DavidEdward Peace, Dana (Jim) Lewis, Justin (April) Burgess, Lindsey Burgess, Jacob, Robbie, Ashley, Skylar, Bryant, McKayla, America, Lucy, Shalena, great-grandchildren: Haley, Devin, Lexy Burgess who are all grateful for their "Daddy Mar", a longtime hunting and fishing partner: Carl Simpson, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, from 4–8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, March 6, in the chapel with Minister Jennie Andone officiating. Burial will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park in Rossville.
