Anita McCalla Adkins of Chattanooga, died on March 3, 2015, following an extended illness. She was 75. 

She was a 1957 graduate of Chattanooga City High School, Edmondson Business College and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Red Bank, TN.  She was retired from the T. J. Snow Company after many years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter D. and Carrie McCalla; and sisters, Sue Ramsey, Joyce Johnson, and Charlotte Marie McCalla.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth Adkins; daughter, Vicki (James) Goldsmith of Chattanooga; son, Kenny Adkins of Augusta, GA; grandchildren, Timothy Goldsmith and Olivia Goldsmith, both of Chattanooga, and Michael Adkins of Augusta, GA; sister, Jean (Dan) Steele; nieces, Angie Moore, Sherrie Anderson, and Cara Ellis; nephew, Jason Steele; brothers-in-law, Jerry Johnson and Ray (Charlotte) Adkins; sister-in-law, Doris (Carl) Ellis; and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 7, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Tom McGuirt officiating.

Interment will follow in the Lakewood West Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
