Second Annual Roadrunner Runaround Scheduled

  • Thursday, March 5, 2015
People of all ages are invited to shrug off the snow and welcome warmer weather with the Second Annual Roadrunner Runaround, Saturday, March 21 at 8:30 a.m. Participants may choose to complete a timed 5k race or an untimed one-mile fun walk.

Taking place around the Dalton State campus as the Bradford Pear trees bloom, the route begins at the Pope Student Center, then runs south along George Rice Dr., north on College Dr., through Wood Valley Apartments, to the Brown Center, then zig-zags back through campus to end at the athletic field.

“We hope people will come out because it’s for a good cause and because it’s a beautiful time of year to be on campus,” said Leslie Taylor, Dalton State assistant professor of English and Roadrunner Runaround committee chair.

Last year, nearly a hundred Dalton State faculty, staff, students, and members of the community participated in the race, which helps raise funds for a cross-country scholarship.

The registration fee is $25.
Pre-registration is encouraged. To register before the event, visit bit.ly/1B1n2Kk.

The day of the event, registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Bell Tower at the center of campus, where shirts and numbers will be distributed. Cash payments will be accepted.
