Brigadier General Simmons, Originally From Hixson, To Lead Georgia Air National Guard

Colonel Jesse Simmons of Effingham County has been selected to command the Georgia Air National Guard. 

Colonel Simmons was promoted to the Flag Officer rank of Brigadier General.  Major General Thomas R. Moore relinquished his command of the Georgia Air National Guard to Brigadier General Simmons.

The promotion ceremony was conducted at the Joint Air National Guard Base on Saturday. 

Brigadier General Simmons grew up in Hixson and graduated from Hixson High School.  His parents still reside in Hixson.
