Deborah Russo

Deborah Camp Russo died peacefully on April 1, 2015.

Born Sept. 2, 1951, Debbie was originally from Thomasville, N.C. where she graduated from Thomasville Senior High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  She moved to Chattanooga, where she lived out her life with family and friends that she treasured.

Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, James Darrel Russo of Chattanooga and her parents, Jack Perrin Camp, Jr and Lois Hoover Camp, both of Thomasville.

Surviving Debbie, is her son, James Darrel Russo Jr (Jamie) of Chattanooga and her sister, Janet Crigler and her brother in law, Hugo Crigler, both of Winston-Salem, N.C.

Debbie took great pride being with friends and family.  She loved to spend time on the lake in Chattanooga, fishing and boating, fashion and cooking great new cuisine that she had discovered.  In fact, cooking up some new and exciting dishes to share was a favorite interest. And, it was enjoyed by all as all the food was delicious.  Debbie and Jamie loved eating out, especially at unique restaurants and bistros with a different flair for food specialties and set in scenic locations.  Spending time with Jamie was the best of her world since they enjoyed so many of the same activities.  Debbie was also especially proud of her Labrador Retrievers that she trained as field trial dogs.  She lost all track of time when she was out in the field with the pups.  She drifted into a world that was precious and peaceful to her while training her beloved dogs.  She was a free spirit that moved within a time frame that was truly her own. We will miss her every day and we will never forget her for a moment.  Her strength and tenacity were boundless.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 10, from 5-8 p.m. at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home at 8214 East Brainerd Road.  A morning visitation will be on Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. preceding the memorial service at 1 p.m., both at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Chattanooga (www.hospiceofchattanooga.org) or McKamey Animal Center at (www.mckameyanimalcenter.org) or contact Jeff at 423 305-6507 or the Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga (www.heschatt.com(423 624-5302).
