TVA Seeks Comment On Energy Plan During Knoxville Meeting

  • Wednesday, April 1, 2015
The Tennessee Valley Authority will host a public meeting Monday with live Internet streaming to review its newly released draft Integrated Resource Plan, a guide to TVA’s energy planning decisions for the next 20 years.

The meeting, the second of seven that will be offered around the Valley, will be held at TVA headquarters’ West Tower Auditorium from 7-8:30 p.m. TVA is located at 400 West Summit Hill Dr. in Knoxville.

The IRP and an associated Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement consider how TVA might meet future energy and capacity needs through a variety of future conditions and the potential effects of the options being considered.

TVA is currently in the draft phase of these studies and is holding public meetings to answer questions and receive comments on the preliminary results.
The meetings consist of a presentation and a question-and-answer session.

Those who have special needs and wish to attend the meeting should contact TVA at 1-865-632-6113.

To view the meeting on the Internet, go to www.tva.com/irpmeeting. Public comments and questions may be submitted on the project website or by email at IRP@tva.gov.

Additional meetings will be held April 9 in Huntsville, Al.; April 14 in Tupelo, Ms.; April 15 in Memphis; April 21 in Nashville, and April 22 in Bowling Green, Ky.

The TVA staff will present their recommendations on a final version of the plan to the TVA board of directors in August.
