Lee Runners Perform Strong In First Day Of Tennessee Relays

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – On the first day of the 49th Tennessee Relays Powered by Sea Ray, the Lee University track team recorded two top 10 finishes and three NCCAA qualifying times in the men’s and women’s 10000 meter run.

Elizabeth Sillcocks was the first Lee athlete to hit the track. The sophomore placed sixth with a mark of 38:51.72, surpassing the NCCAA qualifying standard of 43:00.00. Ann Marie Arseneau of Western Michigan won the winner at 37:09.08.

Seth Eagleson and Joseph Crook continued Lee’s success in the 10000 meter run.
Eagleson placed seventh (32:02.29) and Crook was 16th (33:49.82). The NCCAA standard for men is 34:15.00 and both runners qualified with room to spare. Logan Rogers of Trevecca Nazarene University placed first with a winning time of 31:13.30.

The Tennessee Relays continue on Friday at Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium. The Lady Flames begin the day at 12:15 p.m. EDT with the first of six events they are scheduled to participate. The Flames also have entrants in six events on Friday.
