Chattanooga State Student Killed In Accident Monday In Dunlap

Carissa June Martinez, 19, of Philadelphia died on Monday in Dunlap, in an auto accident. She attended Chattanooga State Community College.  

Officials said the single-vehicle accident occurred around 11:47 a.m. on Henson Gap Road at Harris Road in Sequatchie County. Ms. Martinez had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

She is survived by her mother, Nancy Myers, Panama City, Fl.; father, Richard Lee Martinez; brother, Johnny Myers; maternal grandparents, Joe and Marilyn Guzman, Philadelphia; several uncles and cousins. 
 
Arrangements are by Standefer-Reed Funeral Home, 50 May Road, Dunlap. There will be no visitation or services.
