The victim of Saturday's homicide in the apartment on Tunnel Boulevard has been identified as Robert Rutledge, 66.

Javonte Davis, 18, and Garey Toney, Jr., 20, have been charged in connection with the murder.

Chattanooga Police said after investigating the death of a man found in an apartment at 404 Tunnel Blvd. Saturday morning, they searched for the victim's truck.  An officer spotted the truck and began to follow it.

Police said the suspects in the truck realized they were being followed and shot at the officer.  The bullets did not hit the officer, but did wound two bystanders, said police. Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher said the bystanders were transported to the hospital, but released with non-life threatening injuries.

Chief Fletcher said the police chased the stolen truck until it crashed in a neighborhood at Cambridge Drive and Carousel Road.

Three suspects were in the truck and police arrested a female juvenile while two men fled. The other two men were arrested within the hour.

Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 698-2525.  The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
