School Choice Bill Gains 30 Co-Sponsors

  • Tuesday, April 14, 2015

The Gardenhire/Dunn Tennessee Choice and Opportunity Scholarship Act reached 30 co-sponsors on the legislation Tuesday. The bill has already passed the full Senate and has received support in House committee votes this session, said officials.

"School choice continues to gain legislative support that matches the sentiment of parents across the state," said Tony Niknejad of the Tennessee Federation for Children. "While special interests have tried to thwart the needs of parents and children, these courageous legislators are working to provide opportunity for parents and children in need. It's time for all parents, regardless of their financial means, to have the opportunity to decide their child's educational future."
