Chattanooga Friends will present its second Bartender Brawl on Friday, from 6-9 p.m. in Miller Plaza.
Officials said, "The only competition of its kind in Chattanooga, this is a no-holds-barred, all-out fight to the finish between some of the best local restaurants and bars to see who can mix the best cocktail."
This year the United States Bartenders' Guild is co-hosting this event, which will include an award for the “Spirit of Chattanooga”, chosen by judges Alan Kennedy, Trianon Tequila Brand ambassador, Chloé Morrison, reporter with Nooga.com, and Tyler Carman, USBG Chattanooga treasurer.
Additionally, one bartender will win a “People’s Choice” award, voted on by guests during the event.
Bartenders from 1885 Grill (2014 Bartender Brawl winner), Flying Squirrel Bar, Easy Bistro & Bar, St. John's/Meeting Place, Beast + Barrel, Mellow Mushroom, Bella Vita, Clyde's on Main/ Urban Stack, Taco Mamacita/ Community Pie, Porter's Steakhouse, The Social, and The Honest Pint will each present two tasting-sized cocktails.
Participating bartenders will feature one cocktail with Chattanooga Whiskey's 1816 Reserve and a second cocktail with one of the other sponsored spirits (Tito's Vodka, Tanqueray Gin, El Jimador Tequila or Bacardi Rum). Guests can try as many samples as they like, then vote for their favorite.
The event will feature live music from local band Old Time Travelers, and is sponsored by Chattanooga Whiskey.
Tickets may be purchased at eventbrite.com. Standard tickets are $30 in advance ($35 at the door) and include 2 drink tokens. Premium tickets are $50 and include 10 drink tokens. Additional drink tokens will be on sale at the event for $3 each.
Proceeds will benefit Siskin Children's Institute, Northside Neighborhood House, Boys and Girls Club and La Paz Chattanooga.
