Dorothea C. Carroll, 83, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015 in a local hospital.
Dorothea was born on June 19, 1931 in Memphis, TN to the late Dellie & Dovie Burden. She was a well-known seamstress in this area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Toy Sweeton and A. C. Carroll; and two grandsons, Chuck & Steve Sweeten.
She is survived by six daughters, Linda Odom (Jim), Sarah Sweeten, Ruby Tinney, Susan Douthitt, Toyetta Edwards (Brent) and Gayle Gravitt; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; three sisters, Evelyn Prince, Jewel Patterson and Ethel McKnight; numerous other extended family members; and a host of special friends.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 18 at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, TN with Pastor Andrew Towe officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 18 from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
