Margaret Sparks
Margaret Elizabeth Lovelace Sparks, 83, died on April 14, 2015 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She retired from Holiday Inn, where she worked as manager of housekeeping. She dedicated her life to Christ at a young age and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Ms. Margaret enjoyed gardening, reading and working puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lizzie Mae Heard Lovelace and nine siblings.
Survivors include her children, Carol Sparks Lumpkin, Ringgold; Marcus D. (Bonnie) Sparks, Colonial Beach, VA; Amos L. Sparks and Carolyn M. (Edgar) Dillard, both of Chattanooga; and Gloria (Willie) Bone, Atlanta; eight grandchildren, Jeremy L. (Michelle) Lumpkin, Sean Battle and Porshe Sparks, Montrel Vines and Amber Milton, Latonya Bowman, Demetrice Brandon, Morgan, Jamar and Starlet Bone; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Susie James, Chicago, IL and Gertrude Reed, LaGrange, GA; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, with special mention of Earline Freeman, Joyce Elders, Wanda Hollans and Pauline Dunn.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 2 p.m. at Ebernezer Baptist Church with Pastor Calvin Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon on Friday at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
