Lillian Hattley
Lillian McDevitt Hattley, 82, of Hixson, Tennessee, died on Thursday, April 16, 2015, surrounded by family.
Lillian lived a long and full life, was a retired employee of Gilman Paint and Varnish Company, and was at home cooking, shopping , feeding the bird, and working in her yard until six months before passing. She was a member of the Grace Sunday School Class of Hixson First Baptist Church. Lillian was born in Marshall, NC and graduated from Warren Wilson Junior College in Swannanoa, NC in 1952, before moving to Tennessee and marrying Larry.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Pinckney and Alpha McDevitt, of Marshall, N.C., and 12 brothers and sisters.
Lillian is survived by a brother, Edwin McDevitt, of Asheville, N.C., and a sister, Jean Blow of Rock Hill, S.C. She leaves behind a loving husband, Larry Hattley; two daughters, Loretta Woodard and Jackie (Wayne) Oettinger; three grandchildren, Jennifer Calhoon, Amanda Kilgore and Wes (Terra) Oettinger. She loved her seven great-grandchildren, Evan, Noah, Allie, Landon, Emmy, Conner and Julia, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel, and on Saturday, from 2-3:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Terry Shannon officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
