Cleveland State Splits With Dyersburg State

Cleveland State's Jake Wyrick earned the victory in game one pitching a complete game striking out five allowing one earned run.  Cougars first baseman Drew Curtis drove in third baseman Chris Caffrey in the top of the second and shortstop Jansen Roberson batted  in left fielder Connor Coakley in the fourth giving Cleveland State the 2-1 win.  

Game two turned into a back and fourth offensive battle.  The Eagles scored three in the bottom of the second inning.  By the top of the fourth Cleveland State tied the game at four, then in the bottom half Dyersburg State added three more runs and never relinqueshed the lead, winning 8-5.

Cleveland State (20-18, 7-15) plays at Dyersburg State (18-16, 8-12) Saturday in the series finale with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
