Dalton State volleyball coaches Courtney Wilson (L) and Bruna Langner (R) visited the Coahulla Creek High School media center to sign Gabrielle Henderson (C) to a volleyball letter of intent.
Dalton State volleyball coaches visited Coahulla Creek high school to sign Lady Colts star Gabrielle “Gabby” Henderson to a letter of intent to play with the Roadrunners this fall.
“She is local and has a lot of volleyball talent,” said Coach Bruna Langner. “We are super excited about having Gabby on our team. She is an awesome player who works hard, loves her teammates and does exceptionally well in school.”
Henderson touched a volleyball for the first time at the end of her eighth grade year. “I was interested in the sport right away,” she said. “When my mom found out that Coahulla was going to have a volleyball team I started to go to all of the meetings. I went to open gym and learned the basics of volleyball.”
Henderson credits Lady Colts Coach Julie Norton and her club coach, Kadi Dodson, for her successes. “Because of them I am the player I am today,” she said. “I’ve loved volleyball from the moment I discovered it. That will never change.”
“She’s an all-around player but she will probably play more in the back row for us,” said Coach Langner. “Gabby is the kind of player who will get even better with college experience.”
