Education Savings Account Bill Approved By General Assembly

  • Wednesday, April 22, 2015
The Education Savings Account bill designed to benefit children with special needs passed the full House on Wednesday after getting approval in the Senate on Tuesday.

Beacon Center CEO Justin Owen said, "This has been an absolutely incredible last 20 hours. Even though the voucher bill we supported was postponed until next year, the passage of this bill for children with special needs is a big victory for school choice in Tennessee.
"This bill gives children with special needs across the state the tailored academic experience they deserve, one that meets their unique needs.
Every child deserves a quality education, and we thank the legislators who voted in favor of Education Savings Accounts for realizing that."
