New Chattanooga Community Expo Set For June 6

  • Wednesday, April 22, 2015

The New Chattanooga Community Expo, presented by the Tenesha Irvin Show, will be held Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Avondale Youth and Family Development Center.

The Tenesha Irvin Show is an original talk radio show program that has been airing on Brewer Media’s Groove 93.5 FM on Sundays from 4:30-5 p.m. since May of 2014.  The host and creator of the show, Tenesha Irvin, as well as her co-hosts Anthony Byrd,  Sha’Ree Hardy and Sha’Ron Hardy, are all natives of Chattanooga with diverse experiences and backgrounds.  On the show the host and co-hosts provide commentary and opinions.  Collectively they create a "new spin on talk radio that is equally entertaining and informative as they inform and empower their listeners on community issues while providing ‘Real Talk, Real Issues and Real Solutions for Real People.’"

The New Chattanooga is a movement inspired by the hosts of the Tenesha Irvin Show to highlight the positive aspects of Chattanooga in the areas of community, family life, business and entertainment.

The hosts of the Tenesha Irvin Show invite the Chattanooga community to come out and partner with them at the New Chattanooga Community Expo.  Celebrating education, career readiness, income and health, the group seeks community partners, sponsors, volunteers and experts to assist with activities, resources and free services for attendees.

The goal of The New Chattanooga Community Expo is for the neighbors of the Avondale Community to discover new opportunities for learning and leisure in the Chattanooga area; connect with local organizations and businesses ready to serve the Avondale Community; and grow and become a part of a vibrant community.

The expo will mainly take place outside on two baseball fields on the Avondale YFD campus with break out workshops taking place inside the center.   The expo will be broken down into four zones: Education, Career Readiness, Income and Health.  Vendors are welcome and vendor space is free.
