Army Veteran Worked For DuPont For 25 Years

Richard “Rick” Lee Hicks died suddenly at his home of a heart attack at the age of 62 on April 22, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Betty Sue Hicks.

He was an active member of Christ United Methodist church. He graduated from Graniteville High School in Graniteville, S.C., where he was all-state in football and basketball. He served in the U.S. Army and then graduated from the University of South Carolina with an electrical engineering degree and then received his master’s in Business Administration from UTC. Rick worked for DuPont for 25 years and was currently working at Publix at Hurricane Creek.

He was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his wife, Becky Hicks, and three children, Harmony Chason (Tom), Austin Hicks and Garrett Hicks; granddaughters, Laurel and Lillian Chason and brother, Ron Hicks (JoAnn).

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, at Christ United Methodist Church with Reverend Mark Flynn officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. on Sunday at the church.
