Shelda Lynn Kinnamon, of Dalton, GA, died on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Hospice of Chattanooga after a nearly 10 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
She was truly a peaceful and strong warrior in life, which proved to be even more evident during these last tough weeks. Shelda’s passion for life revolved around her love for her husband, children, mother, sister, brother, extended family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother of three, grandmother of two, best friend & mentor to many, and caregiver to those in need.
Shelda was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Issac “Johnny” Cooper; step-father, Raymond Dixon; and father-in- law, Ish Kinnamon.
Shelda is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Terry Kinnamon; three children, Jonathon Neil and Sarah Kinnamon of Chattanooga, Elizabeth Ashley Kinnamon of Rocky Face and Christopher Colton Kinnamon and Ashlan Rice of Dalton; two grandchildren, Chopper and Lizzie-Jane Kinnamon; mother, Barbara Cooper Dixon of Dalton; mother-in-law, Betty Kinnamon of Dalton; sister and brother-in-law, Tosha and Cliff Haynes of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Barbie Cooper of Calhoun; three step-brothers and their wives, Lamar and Susan Dixon of Dalton, Wayne and Karen Dixon of Ruskin, FL and Perrion and Ann Dixon of Calhoun; sister-in-law, Kimberly Kinnamon of Tunnel Hill; nieces and their spouses, Amber and Adam Holt, Natalie and Justin Williams, Niki Reeves, Kitten and Scott Henson, and Paige Kinnamon; nephews and their spouses, Ryan and Leia Vaughn, Tyson and Jennifer Lewallyn, Chad and Courtney Haynes, and Brett Dixon; and several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was very close to many dear friends but the family would like to extend special thanks to Robin Clinger, Jan Schwalbe, Nancy Ratchford, Sanna Danley, Paula Batts and Stephanie Drummond.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 3 at 3 p.m. at Rockbridge Community Church.
