Wells, Trammell E. Sr. (Dalton)

Trammell E. Wells Sr., 73, of Dalton, GA, died on Thursday morning, April 23, 2015 at his residence.

Trammell was born September 16, 1941 in Dalton, GA, to the late Arthur and Opal Wells. He was a member of the South Dalton Baptist Church. He was a 1958 graduate of Valley Point High School.  Trammell worked many years with the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Department and at Dalton State College.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda H. Wells of the residence; daughters, Teresa and Scott Johnson, Beverly and Mike Anderson, Deanna and Tom Odum; son, Chuck Wells; sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Donald Height; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews all of Dalton, GA.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Trammell E. Wells will be held Sunday April 26, at 3 p.m. at the South Dalton Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry Atkins and Reverend Robbie Dunn officiating.   He will be laid to rest at the West Hill Cemetery with Johnny Whitener, Jerry Manning, Roy Hunsucker, Hoyt Smith, Donny Height and Bill Harris serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Ruddell, Terry Avins, Henry Stephens, Ted Selby, Jimmy Overton, Henry Stephens, Larry Harper and Gary Oweby.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, April 25 and after 1 p.m. until the service hour on Sunday, April 26.

Ponders Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
