Mayor Berke To Give State Of The City Address Monday Night

  • Monday, April 27, 2015

Citizens across the community are invited to attend Mayor Andy Berke’s second annual State of the City address, which will be held Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the ballroom of the Chattanoogan Hotel. The event is free and open to the public.

“The State of the City is an important time to celebrate our accomplishments, discuss our challenges and chart a new course together,” said Mayor Andy Berke. “I encourage citizens to attend and be a part of the conversation.

Community engagement is essential as we continue working together towards a stronger Chattanooga.”

During last year’s State of the City address, Mayor Berke recognized the past year’s achievements and announced several new initiatives including establishing an Innovation District and providing incentives to businesses of 100 employees or fewer who make a substantial workforce expansion through a new Growing Small Businesses (GSB) initiative. Also during the 2014 State of the City, Mayor Berke committed to end chronic veteran homelessness in Chattanooga by December of 2016.
