Mary Evans
Mary L. Hester Evans, 65, died on April 27, 2015.
Mary was born Oct. 3, 1949, to Viola Walker. She was a retired employee of Kindred Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Viola Walker; brother, James Walker, Jr.; two sisters, Wilma and Lillie Mae Walker.
She is survived by her soul mate, Thomas Evans; her son, Willie M. Evans; close friend, Lenard Wigfall; and a host of nieces and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 30, at noon in the chapel with Reverend Wayne Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
The body will lie state on Wednesday, April 29, from 12-5 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
