  • Wednesday, April 29, 2015

In honor of May as National Bike Month, Bike Chattanooga and the City of Chattanooga are joining the League of American Bicyclists and cities across the nation in celebration of cycling in the U.S.

Bike Chattanooga, GreenTrips Chattanooga, Outdoor Chattanooga, and community organizations like Bike Walk Chattanooga and the Chattanooga Bicycle Club will host a series of events designed to encourage riders of all cycling abilities to get on a bike.

May’s biking opportunities are in red here.

To kick off National Bike Month, Bike Chattanooga, GreenTrips, Bike Walk Chattanooga, and Outdoor Chattanooga have once again partnered with The Chattanooga Lookouts for their Annual Bike to the ballgame event this Sunday. The community is encouraged to gather the kids and the family and cruise on down to AT&T Field where they will join other bicycle enthusiasts.  Bike Walk Chattanooga will offer complimentary bike valet to keep riders' bikes secure while they enjoy the game.  In addition to the bike valet, the March GreenTrips winner will be throwing the first pitch of the ballgame, riders will have a chance to win bike-themed prizes from GreenTrips, Bike Chattanooga will offer $15 off annual memberships, and one might even witness Louie the Lookout cruising around the field on a Bike Chattanooga Bike.

Guided group rides will depart from Finley Stadium and Outdoor Chattanooga to bike to AT&T Field where the Lookouts will host the Jacksonville Suns. Group rides will leave at 1:15 p.m. and the game starts promptly at 2:15 p.m.
