A company with offices on three different continents continues to make its name known around the world, as well as right here in Northwest Georgia.
Calhoun, Georgia’s OMNOVA Solutions donated $4,000 to the Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) Foundation on Tuesday.
The company has given to GNTC, and other area schools, on an annual basis for several years.
“They are a great example of giving back to the community,” said Georgia Northwestern Technical College Director of Institutional Development Jason Gamel. “This gift will help buy training equipment for the Fire Science, Basic Law Enforcement, and Cosmetology programs at the college.”
OMNOVA is a global company with roots dating back to 1915. Their main selling point is production of upholstery fabrics and laminates. With locations in Europe, Asia, and North America, OMNOVA is a Lean Six Sigma company which puts intense focus on the customer while taking employee input on helping make their products truly standout in the marketplace.
The GNTC Foundation was first established to encourage private contributions in order to build and maintain outstanding academic and support programs at the college. Donations to the Foundation support areas of institutional need including scholarships to deserving students, equipment purchases, materials for the library, and staff development.
