The Bradley Central and Cleveland High wrestling teams were honored during the Bradley County Commission for their continued excellence in state high school wrestling.
The commission declared April 6 as "Cleveland Blue Raiders and Bradley Bears Wrestling Day."
In the 2015 TSSAA Division One Traditional State Championships, the two teams dominated, with Cleveland placing first and Bradley claiming first runner-up. This is the third straight time Cleveland has placed first.
From Cleveland, senior Chis DeBien also became the first four-time state champion.
Athletic director Eric Phillips said of both teams, "These guys have finished first and second so many times and nobody has ever paid attention to that."
Since 1994, Bradley has won 22 state championships.
During the tournament, the two teams remained close and switched leads several times. Cleveland beat Bradley by only 7.5 points. However, Bradley was more than 84 points ahead of the team that came in third.
