Casey Barge Rises Again

  • Tuesday, April 7, 2015

The Casey barge across from Ross's Landing has risen again.

Now the challenge is to get all the permissions to be able to float the longtime eyesore away from Chattanooga.

Cooper Jones, who had raised the barge once before, got it up late Monday night.

He used a variety of pumps to accomplish the task.

Authorities said a vandal had sunk it by turning a release hose that was directed into the river inside the barge, allowing it to fill up with water.
