2015 Chattanooga/Atlanta Carson Scholars To Be Honored At Annual Awards Banquet

The Carson Scholars Fund will be honoring 44 of the best and brightest students from Chattanooga and Atlanta and the surrounding areas. These students will be recognized for their high academics and humanitarian qualities at the Annual Carson Scholars Fund Awards Banquet on Sunday, 2-4 p.m. at the UTC University Center - Tennessee Room, 642 East 5th St.

In addition, 52 students have renewed their Carson Scholar status.  These previous winners have maintained high academic standards and a strong commitment to their communities and are being recognized for their continued efforts. 

Officials said, "The Annual Awards Banquet is one of the most important events of the year for the Carson Scholars Fund as it honors these high achieving students in the presence of their families, educators, school administrators and the community."

Retired world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon and New York Times bestselling author, Dr.

Benjamin Carson, will deliver the keynote speech. Dr. Steve Angle, chancellor of The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga will also be in attendance and deliver remarks.
