Police Blotter: Shoplifting Suspect At Penney's Chooses To Fight

Police said a woman suspected of shoplifting at Penney's at Hamilton Place decided to fight when she was confronted.

Shelia Wilson hit the floor during the scuffle.

Store personnel said they had watched Ms. Wilson for three hours as she took multiple items of clothing and hid them on herself and in her purse.

After the tussle, she was found with $451 in store merchandise.

Police said she had a warrant against her for theft from a business.

She was taken to jail on a new charge of theft under $500.

Police checked out a vehicle stopped on the side of the road on S. Beech Street. They saw the woman driver open the door and throw up twice.

Officers knocked on the window, but she was unresponsive. When the door was opened, there was a strong odor of marijuana. Three baggies of marijuana were found in her purse.

Police said Jenearia Pullom was unsteady on her feet and did not do well on field tests.

It was found that her driver's license had been suspended.

She was taken to jail on charges of DUI, possession of a controlled substance, and driving on a revoked license.

A resident of Sioux Trail said a window was knocked out of her 2005 Acura RSX.

A Canon camera that had been under one of the seats was taken.

It was the second such car break-in for her since October.

Thomas Burdett of W. 21st Street said he parked his 2009 Ford E350 work van at his residence.

The right-front passenger window was broken out.

He is missing a GPS, backup camera and monitor screen.

At the Walmart on Signal Mountain Road, store personnel said three black females tried to shoplift merchandise.

The store recovered $233.17 in items.

The trio got into a 2005 Chrysler.

Police later spoke with the driver, Jasmine Jones, who said she let the women out at the store but did not know they were thieves.

A couple on Rosemary Drive said their house was shot up.

They said they were getting ready for bed when they heard a loud noise. The bathroom window, a wall and a mirror were shot.

Police found multiple shell casings from a 45 caliber weapon at the front of the residence.

There was also damage from a bullet to the couple's 2000 Nissan Sentra.

Neighbors heard shots, but did not see the shooter.

At Walgreens on Gunbarrel Road, a woman came inside, grabbed an Easter basket, and walked out to her vehicle.

The theft was caught on video.

Store personnel said they believe they know the woman's name.
