Chattanooga Community Housing Development Org. (CCHDO) is now accepting application from qualified low to moderate income homeowners who reside with in the city limits of Chattanooga for its Roofing Program:
This program is available to homeowners who meet the following requirements:
- Reside within the Chattanooga city limits.
- Meet HUD Low to Moderate Income qualification (income information will be requested.)
- Owner must occupy the house that is being considered for this program.
- All city and county property taxes must have been paid through the current year.
- Senior citizens and disabled homeowners get priority consideration.
This program is funded through a five-year forgivable grant. The full amount of the grant will be forgiven as long as the ownership of the house does not change during the five-year period.
Officials said, "We have a limited amount of funding for the roofing program. We will try to help as many people as possible this year. If we run out of money and can’t help you this year, then we will put you on the waiting list for next year’s roofing program.
