Police Blotter: Man Grabs Woman's Neck In Road Rage Incident; Wendy's Manager Foils Robbery With Screams; Man Sets Up Own Speed Hump On Adkins Road

A woman told police that a man reached in her car and grabbed her neck during a road rage incident in Hixson.

She said it started when she pulled out from a church parking lot on Ely Road. She said she accidentally cut off another vehicle.

The woman said the car passed her, then slowed down. She said she made a turn to try to get away from it.

She said the car caught back up with her, then passed her and stopped. A man got out, walked to her driver's side, and cursed her before grabbing her.

The woman said when she told him to leave, he punched her windshield, cracking it.

Police noticed a broken front door at Kanku's on Shallowford Road.

Video showed a silver minivan pull up. A black male got out and threw a large rock at the door twice.

When he could not get inside, he drove south on Jenkins Road.

At the Home Depot at Hixson, store personnel said they saw Jim Harvey and Mark Harvey Jr. switching prices.

They said the pair got a $294 door and took a sticker from a $128 door on it.

Citations were taken against them.

A customer at Planet Fitness said she returned to her vehicle to find that her passenger window had been broken.

Her purse was taken. It did not have any money or credit cards in it, but it did contain her health cards, driver's license, checkbook and house keys.

Video showed a white male get out of a silver, four-door sedan.

The same man and car were involved in a similar break-in at the parking lot a couple of days earlier.

The night manager at Wendy's on Shallowford Road said she had locked up and was on the way to her car when she was approached by two males.

They wore hooded jackets and had bandanas over their faces.

One held his hand in his pocket as if he had a weapon.

When they tried to get her to re-open the restaurant, she began screaming loudly.

The would-be robbers ran off.

At the Maytag Laundry on Brainerd Road, police were told that a man who had been previously banned was back.

He spent over three hours in the late night and early morning.

He smoked, drank and defecated on the floor, officers were told.

A woman said she was searching in the Dodds Avenue area for someone to tow her son's SUV.

She saw a truck that had a sticker on it about towing cars. She asked the people in the truck if they would tow the SUV, and they agreed.

She was told to go to a house on 10th Avenue where they would get a car dolly. She was asked to park and wait inside.

When she came back out, her car and the men with the truck were gone.

A woman on E. 12th Street said she heard 7-8 gunshots.

She went up front and found that her front window had been shot out.

She saw several black males running away, and she did not know who they were.

A caller said there was a wooden pallet in the middle of Adkins Road in Lookout Valley.

Police found the pallet exactly where the caller said it would be.

When an officer started to pick it up, a white male yelled not to move it. He said he put it there because police were failing to curb speeders on the road.

The officer, nevertheless, carted off the road obstacle.
