Points Leaders Take Early Advantage Of Cleveland Speedway Championship Opportunities

  • Tuesday, May 12, 2015

Week #1 is in the record books for the 2015 Cleveland Speedway Track Championship with last weekend’s winners getting the early advantage.

Friday night saw five different winners who have likely sealed their names into the “Final 4” races at the end of the 2015 season, when the Dirt-Chase (similar to the NASCAR Cup series formula) kicks off in September. Riley Hickman, John Ownbey, Adam Earwood, Robbie Greene and E.J. Bailey drove to the checkers Friday night at Cleveland Speedway which gives them not only the current points lead, but gives them the all important “W” in the win column, which like NASCAR is key to being entered into the chase field.

Throughout the “Final 4” races of the Dirt-Cup for the Cleveland Speedway Track Championship which is presented by Budweiser’s Tarver Distributing, the Top 10 will be eliminated down to the final four competitors at the annual “Gobbler” event in November. Those four racers will not only be racing for the “Gobbler” victory, but also the Dirt-Cup Track Championship with the highest finisher of the final four competitors being hailed as champion along side the “Gobbler” winners.

Points can be viewed on the Cleveland Speedway web-sitewww.ClevelandSpeedwayLLC.com and on the Facebook page.

Week #2 of the 2015 season  is scheduled for this Friday night starting at 7 p.m. for all five divisions of competition.
