Former University of Tennessee at Chattanooga defensive lineman Derrick Lott signed a free agent contract with the Tennessee Titans this week. Lott spent three seasons with the Mocs and was a two-time All-Southern Conference nominee.
He was one of 14 undrafted free agents the Titans agreed to terms with on Monday. Lott is one of four UTC alumni currently with an NFL team. Others include Buster Skrine (Jets), Chris Lewis-Harris (Bengals) and Davis Tull (Saints).
Lott transferred to Chattanooga from Georgia prior to the start of the 2012 season. He earned second team All-SoCon honors after recording 57 tackles that season. In 2013, he was sidelined early with an elbow injury and granted a sixth year of eligibility in 2014.
Last season, Lott was second in the SoCon with 6.0 sacks and earned first team All-SoCon recognition. He participated in the NFL Combine, along with teammate Davis Tull, and took part in the East-West Shrine game.
