The Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association on Tuesday announced the first annual Mr. Baseball Award in each of the five classifications, and McCallie's Tyler Payne was among the finalists. These awards, sponsored by the Miller Net Company and Old Hickory Bats will be presented to 15 finalist on May 19, at 11 a.m. prior to the start of the 2015 Spring Fling. The awards ceremony will take place on the field at Middle Tennessee State University.
The finalist were chosen by a panel of high school coaches, college coaches and scouts. They were chosen not only for their athletic ability but for their outstanding character and academic achievements.
