Dianne Elizabeth Jackson Glaser, of Chattanooga, died peacefully in the early morning hours of Mother's Day, May 10, 2015, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and her loving husband of 57 years, Marvin Glaser.

Dianne was raised in Huntsville, by her mother, Elizabeth Allen Jackson, and her grandmother, Katherine Womack. Dianne's early childhood experiences growing up in the South of the 40s and 50s provided the foundation on which she later wrote the “Amber Wellington” mystery series of books for young readers, as well as the still coveted “A.L.A. Notable Book” for 1977, “The Diary of Trilby Frost.”

Dianne and Marvin raised seven children, living for several years in Cincinnati, before making their home of the last 43 years in Chattanooga. Dianne’s focus was first and always her family. Beautiful, intelligent, articulate, talented and caring, she provided a place for her children and grandchildren where everyone felt safe, healthy, happy and loved. Her spirit and influence will always remain with all the people who knew and loved her.

Surviving her are her children, Tamara (Michael) Salter, Sean (Anna) Glaser, Carey Glass, Dane Glaser, Amber (Daryl) Beam, Quinn Glaser, Tristan (Shuvon) Glaser, and the 15 grandchildren she adored. The family expresses their deep appreciation to the staff of Erlanger Hospital, particularly the many kind nurses in ICU for their caring expertise and professionalism.

The family will hold a private memorial in celebration of her life. If friends of the family wish to honor her memory, these causes have been close to our hearts over the years: Hospice of Chattanooga, Habitat for Humanity, Chattanooga Brain Injury Association, and the Ronald McDonald House.
