Highlighted by Alex Tucker's game-winning single in game one and Palmer Steventon's third win of the season in game two, defending state champion McCallie swept a playoff doubleheader from visiting St. Benedict, 3-2, and 8-1, Thursday.
The Blue Tornado (25-8) advances to Spring Fling next week in Murfreesboro and will open defense of its state title Tuesday against Briarcrest at Wilson Central HS at 5 p.m.

Game 1: Alex Tucker singled with two out to drive in two runs as McCallie rallied to edge St. Benedict, 3-2 in eight innings.
St. Benedict scored a run in the top of the eighth to lead 2-1 before Tucker's heroics.
McCallie's Corbin Brooksbank gained the win in relief (3-0) as he struck out two and allowed one earned run, plus was 2-4 at the plate.
Game 2: McCallie 8, St. B 1 ... The victors led 5-1 after two innings and were never headed in sweeping the doubleheader.
Tyler Payne was 2-4 with three stolen bases, while Drew Vaughn, Tyson Buchanan and Matthew Brock each had two hits.
Palmer Steventon pitched six innings of shutout relief to improve to 3-1 on the season.
