BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Despite Birmingham's fourth sellout of the 2015 campaign, the Barons fell 5-1 to the Lookouts Thursday. Chattanooga has won 4-of-the-5 games in this current road series. The Barons' run snapped a 21-inning scoreless streak for the Lookouts.
The (21-13) Lookouts lead second-place Tennessee by 2 1/2 games.
Greg Peavey had his best outing of the season going 7.0 innings while giving up a run on four hits. The key to his success Thursday was that he walked none but struck out three batters.
The Lookouts scored a run in the second. Travis Harrison hit a ground-rule double and two outs later he scored on Mike Gonzales' single to right.
Chattanooga added two more runs in the fourth inning. Miguel Sano singled and stole second. Max Kepler's double brought Sano home. A triple by Adam Walker scored Kepler.
The Lookouts added two insurance runs in the eighth . Sano and Harrison walked. Kepler's second double of the game scored Sano and sent Harrison to third. Gonzales singled to plate Harrison with the Lookouts' fifth run
Birmingham's lone run scored in the sixth inning.
Three Lookouts managed a two-hit night with Travis Harrison, Max Kepler and Mike Gonzales finding the gaps. Kepler and Gonzales each drove in two runs, while Adam Walker batted one run. Just one Chattanooga batter was held hit-less in the contest.
Byron Buxton continues to struggle at the plate. He went 1-for-5 in the game, a single.

The final game of the series takes place Friday beginning at 7:05 p.m. at Regions Field. Tyler Danish (4-0, 2.76 ERA) gets the start for Birmingham while his fellow right-hander D.J. Baxendale (3-0, 1.24 ERA) takes to the bump for the Lookouts.
