Delia M. Sanford, 92, of Dalton, Georgia, died Saturday morning, May 16, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Delia was born February 19, 1923 to the late Carter Tate Green and Martha Octava Poole Green; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Cary E Sanford; brothers, Carter Tate Green and Everett “Buddy” Green; sister, Shelby Jean; and granddaughter, Marie Paniaqua.
Mrs. Delia M. Sanford is survived by her daughters, Portia and Ronald Anderson and Brenda Moore all of Dalton; brother, Elbert and Geneva Green of South Carolina; sister, Shirley and Bill Barnes of Blue Ridge, GA; grandchildren, Carla and David French, Carl William Howard, Raymond Otis Howard, Jeremiah T. Howard, Michael Early, Jared Howard and Sheena Anderson; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Delia M. Sanford, will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday May 20, from Ponders Melrose Chapel with the Rev. Ron Adams officiating. Interment will follow the service at Barnes Chapel, in Blue Ridge, GA., with Carl Howard, Raymond Howard, Jeremiah Howard, Jared Howard, Valdamar Paniaqua and Nathaniel Paniqua serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 19, from 5-9 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel.
