Elsie G. Parks, 74, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, April 25, at her residence. 

She was formerly employed by Chattanooga Tractor. She was a faithful member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Maybell Gates; brothers, Kermit, Robert, and Erulus Gates; sisters, Christine Lopez, Eula Mae Williamson; husband, John L. Parks. 

Survivors include her son, Kelvin Parks of Chattanooga; daughter, Synthia Parks of Nashville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Roberta Gates of New York and Mary Thornton of Atlanta; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. 

She will lie-in-state on Friday, May 1, after 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 2, at 11 a.m. at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Eddie Jacks as the eulogist.  Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
