Mildred Healy
Mildred Carothers Healy, 93, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, died on Friday morning, May 1, 2015.
Mildred Carothers was born Oct. 18, 1922, in Chattanooga. She was the daughter of Thomas M. Carothers and Ella Lea Robertson. She attended Girls Preparatory School and Sweet Briar College, and served in the Red Cross during World War II.
She was married to William Raymond Healy on Aug. 29, 1946. He preceded her in death after 64 years of marriage.
She was a member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, Junior League of Jacksonville, FL, and the Garden Club of America.
For many years, she and her family were active members of the Church of the Good Shepherd on Lookout Mountain, and she was currently a member of Christ Church in Ponte Vedra Beach.
She is survived by three children, William R. Healy Jr. of Nashville, Jane H. Bourne of Atlanta, and Robertson L. Healy of Chattanooga. To her eight grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren she was affectionately known as “Mommou”.
There will be a memorial service at Vicars Landing on Tuesday, May 5, at 1 p.m. and a reception to follow. There will be a graveside burial service at Forest Hills Cemetery in Chattanooga on Friday, May 15, at 11 a.m.
